With the warmer months, some of us wonder if we can still enjoy the anxiety-relieving and stress-soothing benefits of a weighted blanket. For some of us, it’s the only way we can get our propper amount of Zzzs.
We’ve done the research and tested a number of weighted blankets available in the UK to find the best cooling, most comfortable weighted blanket for the warmer months and hot sleepers. This is our top 5:
This weighted blanket literally has Cooling Blanket in the name and for good reason. It’s made with HydroCool™ fabric, a special microfiber fabric that regulates your body temperature to keep you comfortably cool throughout the night.
It’s a high-quality blanket filled with ultra-silent, micro-glass sand beads, so when you shift positions or move, the blanket won’t wake you.
Our testers said they especially enjoyed this blanket, as it’s a single unit meaning they didn’t have to worry about extra loops and ties to make sure the blanket was secure within a cover. As such, the blanket’s perfect weight of 5kg was always evenly distributed across their body and they were surprised by how well the blanket kept them cool.
“I’m a very hot sleeper and usually wake up in the middle of the night soaked and uncomfortable. I was shocked that I had comfortably slept through the night with the kuddly cooling blanket. I’m so grateful that I got to try it out. For the first time in my life, I’m finally getting proper sleep.” Grateful weighted blanket tester.
With kudd.ly™’s 30-day money-back guarantee program, you can easily try out their new kuddly Cooling Blanket risk-free.
Their Cooling Blanket is regularly £129. But excitingly, it’s currently on sale for only £59!
Coming in number two is the Koala Blanket. It’s unique in the sense that it comes with a cover that has a cooling bamboo side and warming mink side. This makes it an exceptional blanket for all year-round.
This weighted blanket is available in three different weights and two sizes, allowing you to select a size and weight your body might prefer.
Our testers stated they enjoyed sleeping under the cooling bamboo side but would have preferred if it was a single unit much like our number one choice. That said, the Koala blanket is a high-quality blanket filled with glass beads making the blanket breathable.
Kalm Koala also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee and quick shipping, so you can try out the Koala Blanket risk-free.
The Gravity Blanket is third for its summer covers. Like the Koala blanket, they come with a cover with two sides: one side velvet and the other side 100% cotton. The 100% cotton side doesn’t give you the same temperature regulating properties that bamboo or HydroCool fabrics do, but it is breathable.
Our testers said they didn’t mind sleeping on the Gravity Blanket but felt a bit frustrated having to make sure the cover was secured properly for the best evenly distributed weight.
The delivery time on a Gravity Blanket is 21 working days, which means you do have to wait quite a while for it to show up.
The Simba Orbit weighted blanket is also a cover and duvet combo. Its cover is made with breathable and washable cotton. So, although it doesn’t give you the same temperature regulating benefits that bamboo or HydroCool™ fabric would, it’s not a terrible weighted blanket.
That said, if you’re a hot sleeper you might have a better sleep under a weighted blanket that’s designed specifically to make you cool.
We couldn’t find any specifics on delivery or a specific trial for the blanket.
The YnM Weighted Blanket is made from bamboo viscose, meaning it does have breathability and some soothing properties. Of course, you can only buy it on Amazon, so there is always a possibility that it’s not genuine. You’re also not dealing with the actual brand but instead, you’d be dealing with Amazon.
That said, it’s not a terrible blanket. You have the option to buy the bamboo cover, so the blanket does come with loops on the corners so that you can anchor the cover to it.
Plus, with it being sold on Amazon, the features and instructions aren’t that clear. The site says you can machine wash the blanket, but it’s best to buy the cover and wash the cover only.
