Let’s go back to the very beginning. No, I don’t mean my childhood. The beginning of my dating life, silly. Attending an all-boys school didn’t help with my dating life, so I really had to wait until college.
I remember trying to ask girls out left, right, and centre—but alas, it was of no use.
For some reason, I was just not able to attract any of them. I became reserved and grumpy all the time because I figured, if girls won’t like me, then no one will.
Then came the intervention.
My best mate sat me down and laid it on me. I was miserable. He asked if I was getting enough sleep because it didn’t seem like it.
He was right, but I didn’t really think about it. Then, it became clear. By not sleeping I was demonstrating the following:
- Constantly tired
- Grumpy all the time
- Poor hygiene
- Lack of focus
- Low energy
- Unattractive
Yup, I realized that my inability to woo possible girlfriends was because I was just unattractive (cringe). The realization stung, but it did slap some sense into me. What was I going to do?
