Lack of sleep causes people to experience a drop in cognitive abilities. As a result, their mood, memory, attention, and performance is affected. But most importantly, with lack of sleep people have a higher chance of hurting others.

One can’t deny the hundreds of lives lost every year due to smaller scale vehicular, medical, and factory related accidents caused by sleep deprivation. It’s scary just thinking about it—all those people who’ve put off sleep to get more done in the day and are now behind the wheel driving from here to there.
That’s not even the worst of it.
